(7-3-2008) RADFORD, VA – After close to nine months, Charles Carpenter will make his long awaited return to the national event scene at this weekend’s 2nd annual Shelor.com Motor Mile ADRL Independence Drags in Radford, VA.
Make no mistake, however, the time away from the Flowmaster American Drag Racing League presented by the National Guard series was not spent idly. Carpenter sold his trusty ’55 Chevy soon after the close of the 2007 season, and spent the remaining months working with up-and-coming chassis builder Terry Murphy on the creation of brand new “shoebox” Chevy.

 Northeast Outlaws to hold July events at Cecil County, Atco
(7-2-2008) HUNTINGTON, NY – After battling unmerciful weather thus far in 2008, the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association is hoping for better conditions in the near future, as the fast doorslammer club announces two upcoming events in July. Club members are optimistic in their scheduled return to their home track, Cecil County Dragway on Saturday, July 5. On tap is a 1/4 mile contested 8-car shootout.
One week later, the Northeast Outlaws will roll into New Jersey's Atco Raceway for the first Lend America Northeast Outlaw "Extreme" race of the 2008 season, scheduled for Saturday, July 12.  New website launched for Red Eagle Racing
(7-2-2008) PLAINFIELD, CT – Paul Athey’s Red Eagle Racing team has re-launched the team website at www.paulathey.net. Paul and the team encourage everyone to stop by and check it out.
The site was built and designed from scratch by Stacy Hall out of nearby Ledyard, CT. Stacy is the wife of local Top Dragster driver Scott Hall, who is also part of the team. (7-1-2008) COMMERCE, GA – The Dixie Pro Mod Association made a stop at Atlanta Dragway on Saturday June 28th. This association has produced all three ADRL Pro Nitrous Champions, Keith Baker, Dan Parker and Jamie Hancock.
When qualifying was all said and done the team of Dan Parker and Bill George sat atop the sheet with a 4.06 at 179.68. James Hancock, doing the driving duties this week in the family Corvette, was 2nd with a 4.17 at 175.46. The 3rd spot belonged to Keith Baker when he stopped the clocks with a 4.20 at 176.53. After two great rounds of qualifying Terry Dehaven in his Jeff Miller tuned, blown '63 'Vette was the number 1 qualifier with a 4.36 at 152. Kevin Fortney in his Buck powered Monte Carlo was the number 2 qualifier with a 4.413 at 164 followed closely by Bill Meadows in his Kaase powered Grand Am with a 4.414 at 162.

(6-30-2008) KANSAS CITY, MO – Zach Barklage had a productive weekend with his Lucas Oil, Sunoco Race Fuels Pontiac GTO last weekend at Kansas City International Raceway’s 6th Annual Soul Brothers 1/8 mile Pro Mod race. Starting Sunday from the No. 3 spot, Barklage qualified with a 4.03 at over 180 MPH.
“Right now, the car is running very well,” said Zach Barklage. “We’ve worked very hard on our consistency, along with our speed and I feel we’re accomplishing what we’ve set out to do. The competition was tough and some teams were running very big numbers. This is one of the tracks we consider our hometown track, and I’ve spent a lot of time in Kansas City. We know the track well, so it always helps to know what to expect.”

(6-30-2008) MOCKSVILLE, NC – The Quick 8 Racers Association made a stop at O’Reilly Farmington Dragway on Saturday June 28th. At the last 3 Quick 8 shows Mother Nature played havoc on this group of racers. When the day started it was hot and humid with track temperatures reaching over 140° and air temperatures in the high to mid 90's.
The first round of qualifying began at 2:00 andthe track temperatures were still high with air temperatures still in the mid 90's. Everyone was thinking that there was no way that these doorslammers would run in the 4.0's because it was so hot but the top 4 qualifiers would prove them wrong. (6-29-2008) CAYUGA, ON – The Southern Ontario weather did not cooperate, and the eliminations for the Fourth Annual KC Auto Family Day presented by Paul Wolf Electric & Lighting Supply Inc., Osram Sylvania and Independent Electrical Distributors have been postponed.
The third event in the 2008 Pro Modified Racing Association presented by Torco Racing Fuels Ontario schedule will be held at a future date.
A record number of 18 Pro Modifieds came to the Cayuga Dragway at Toronto Motorsports Park to do battle, and while Saturday’s qualifying sessions took place, the heavy rains Sunday stalled any opportunity for eliminations.

(6-29-2008) DELAWARE, OH – The JEGS ProMod Challenge field for the 54th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals will be one of the most star-studded in NHRA history. (6-29-2008) CAYUGA, ON – Pro Modified Racing Association hosted a record number of 18 cars for the Fourth Annual KC Auto Family Day presented by Paul Wolf Electric & Lighting Supply Inc., Osram Sylvania and Independent Electrical Distributors Saturday on the Cayuga Dragway at Toronto Motorsports Park, but due to time restraints and moisture late in the evening, the eliminations will take place Sunday, June 29.
The race is the third in the 2008 PMRA schedule presented by Torco Racing Fuels Ontario.
