I'm going to say this plainly and uncensored. This fucking stupid 1,000 ft. drag racing sucks!

To say it's safer is an outright lie. The fuel cars are going almost as fast as they were on the full quartermile. Plus they only spray to 1,000 ft. making it more dangerous for Pro Stock, Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, TA/FC and TA/D.

Fans don't care for it either.

NHRA needs to slow the fuel cars down and they need to do it now! It's not the tracks stupid, it's the CARS!

If they do that they may even avoid short fuel fields.

I agree Nick, and watching the qualifying show from Phoenix I am sure NHRA recognizes it or at least ESPN does by showing footage from Phoenix I believe from from the early 2000's or 1999 where Schumacher was the first to go 330 mph at 1320 ft. and then going on to show Masseys run from Pomona where he goes 328.62 to the 1000 ft mark. Seems like a little exploitation of something they should be trying to correct before something catastrophic happens......JMO

I think it should have been flipped around.....
Make your junk run to 1320 and not blowup.... ........ ........ Thats it...

Why is it every motorsports shows all the crashes and the blowups to bring you in...and then turns around and say they dont want any...... Isn't that just part of what happens in the sport we are in for the most part?
What the hell is next? a Cable in a channel to hold the cars down and to make them go straight? Sheeeeshhh What a bunch of wieners!!!!!

He He.... He said Weiner

I agree... To a point..... either make it all 1320 or all 1000.... Just make it the same for everybody.

I don't personally believe 1320 is a "Holly Graille" but that's just MY opinion

To much "old" 2 1/2 men Frank?

I said it when they brought it in. Everyone called me stupid for saying all they will do is run the components even harder...

Same as any motorsport, then.

I gotta admit. The 1/8 mile race at Ennis actually made Top Sportsman fun again. It was the first time for me and I wondered what I was gonna think about it.... It was Cool. You gotta dial hard and cut a lite to win it. Makes for a more honest race.

I first started drag racing at Spencer Speedway. It's a 1/10 mile track on the infield of an asphalt oval. You learn that lesson real quick on that track.
